January 25th...Benefits of Cross-training!

I thought I'd do a post on the benefits of crosstraining so you would know why, you put yourself through my torturious classes...you know you love them...afterwards!  OK, below is a picture of what you will NOT be doing in my class, no amount of cross-training will ever get ME that flexible, therefore I don't expect that from you...if you are a "Gumby"...good for you!

What are the benefits of never having to have to do the same class twice?  Muscle confusion people!  If we keep our muscles guessing, then we keep our body working hard and burning some serious calories!
#1 Injury Prevention, by training all your muscle in different ways, with different equipment, decreaese the chances of an overuse injury.
#2 Overuse Injury, for example from running is, tight hamstrings and weak quads. Cross-training will help you maintain your fitness by modifing exercises and help to stregthen weak muscles which will correct the injury.
#3 Motivation, by having a different workout each time you go to the gym, kills bordom and keeps you motivated because of the variety of exercises.  Cross-training helps you maintain your "inner-fire", making it possible to train harder and more consistently.
